When is it recommended ?

Vitamin D has the particularity of being provided through our diet (one third) as well as being synthesised by our organism when the skin is exposed to sunlight (two thirds). This particularity explains the frequent vitamin D deficiencies that occur in winter in people that have little exposure to the sun.

Involved in large number of different metabolisms, vitamin D acts on bone density promoting the assimilation of calcium. It also plays a role in our immune systems. Provision should be optimised for certain categories of the population.
