Experimental trials

... also called clinical studies or trials

In experimental trials, the team conducting the research controls the conditions the subjects are exposed to (who, to what, how, when, where).

Subjects are divided into two groups (exposed and not exposed) within which they are monitored and compared to the number of new cases of a particular disease or of people falling ill during a given period.

Therapeutic trials evaluate the efficacy of and tolerance to the medical treatments in the trial. In this example exposure means taking a medicinal product.

PiLeJe conducted the first clinical trial* in France on the effects of a mixture of probiotics on irritable bowel syndrome. In this respect it demonstrated the efficacy of the dietary supplement, the Lactibiane® probiotic.
